Recreational Therapy

Recreational Therapy (RT), also referred to as Therapeutic Recreation (TR), is a health and human service profession. Psychology students interested in becoming a recreational therapist will require at least a bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation. Working collectively as a group, recreational therapists take input from their client and the client’s loved ones concerning how therapy proceeds. To a lesser degree, recreational therapists also function in health care services settings, such as these that specialize in ambulatory care.
